Our Mission:

To Purify Drinking Water In The Most Remote Environments On Earth

In 2005, Water Of Life® began with a goal to create a better water purification system. We understood that a better water purification system had to be more (I) effective, (II) portable, (III) rugged and (IV) energy efficient than previous systems. In addition, we realized that it should be easier to store, deploy, operate and maintain. Fortunately, years of testing, research and development have enabled us to make the world's best water purification technology. We call it UVX™.

UVX™: The Ideal Water Purification Technology

UVX™ is a breakthrough, ultraviolet-water-purification technology. It enables a more effective, portable and rugged water purification system because it is so energy efficient. Before UVX™, for example, a purification system that could purify 35,000 gal. of water supplied with five gallons of propane while weighing only 160 pounds was unheard of. With UVX™, however, it's a reality. We call it the Expeditionary Water Unit (EWU), the world's best portable water purifer.

About The Founder

CEO & Founder - Dr. Steve Yencho

In 2005, Steve Yencho, Ph.D. founded Water Of Life, LLC.

Dr. Yencho holds (I) a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois, (II) an M.S. degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University and (III) a Ph.D. in Material Science & Engineering from Stanford University. In addition, Dr. Yencho was the Hewlett-Packard Fellow in the Precision Machinery Engineering Ph.D. program at the University of Tokyo. His work experience includes several technical and managerial positions with Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, Caterpillar Tractor Company and the Institute of Defense Analyses.

Prior to starting Water Of Life, Dr. Yencho founded Cardica, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRDC) — the world leader of implanted surgical connectors for coronary artery bypass graft surgeries, and Omeros Medical Systems (NASDAQ:OMER) — a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. Furthermore, Dr. Yencho was the Assistant Director of Stanford's Rapid Prototyping Laboratory.
